VICAR'S MESSAGE

 Is such the fast that I choose a day for a person to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the Lord? "Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke? to let the oppressed go free,and to break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:5-6)

 Dearly Beloved in Christ,

     We are continuing our journey of the Great Lent for 31 of the total 50 days. Lent is a time of confession, conversion and renewal of the faith. Lent is an invitation to focus on living in the experience of the kingdom of God. The Lenten season is also a time of self- examination and reflection. Each Sunday has a theme from the Gospels, which manifests the healing and transformative power of Christ during the earthly ministry.

     This is the time for clergy and laity to seek mutual forgiveness and reconciliation and pray for the blessings of the observance of the lent. The central theme to be discussed by the Sabha this month is:

1st Sunday-The Accepting Christ,

2nd Sunday-The Redeeming Christ,

3rd Sunday-The Restoring Christ,

4th Sunday-Hosanna;

Christ the Lord of Peace. We the community of faith are anointed by God to be the bearers of this love and salvation. Lent us work together in fellowship and truth to fulfill God's plan.

     May God help us to experience His presence through our worship and fellowship.

Yours in Christ's Service,

Rev K. A. Varghese
